It's true love I tell you. Love this color.
While I was home, there was knitting. I got to start the dropped stitches on the Clapotis. I finished my neice's x-mas socks (but forgot to take a picture). I started a new x-mas project and started the second of the purple striped socks.
Other than that, have to go to work tomorrow. It's a very busy week. Knitting tomorrow. Work Happy Hour thurs. Cookie baking for cookie exchange Friday night. Work Holiday party (requiring cocktail dress) Saturday. Cookie Exchange Sunday. I might be glad to go to work next Monday just to get a break.

You'll be glad to know, I whittled it down to 4 projects to take with me. My neice's toddler socks, the purple stripe socks, Tangled Yoke cardiagan and a hat. Two of which fit in my purse.
I'm taking my computer and my camera, so if time permits, there might be updates.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Let there be light...welll, maybe not
Tomorrow is my last full day here. I spent most of the day doing laundry so I have clothes to wear. Tomorrow night I have to finish packing. Toiletries, etc. My bag is stuffed full. I'm taking all the christmas gifts I've bought so far so I have less to bring when I come home at Christmas. Since I have my bag so full, I'm trying to reign in the amount of knitting I'm bringing with me. It's extremely hard... I might just take a few things and then visit the yarn store while I'm home...

FO! FO1
So, we have the completed Calorimetry.
I made it out of Patsons SWS. I washed and I was afraid it had grown, but it was exactly 24" as specified in the patter. Hurrah!
I also finished a hat today. It's the Unorginal Hat pattern from the Yarn Harlot.
It was easy and quick and looks good on. I made it out of some Lamb's Pride Bulky I had left over from a class at Stitches Midwest 2 years ago. It's a gift for someone for christmas. I'm trying to finish 7 hats in a month...wish me luck.
Tomorrow is laundry day. I have to wash all the clothes for my trip to St. Louis next week and then pack. The real question is what knitting I'm going to bring with me. So far, I'm thinking the Tangled Yoke, a hat, and a couple of pairs of socks. I'm going for an entire week and 2 plane trips. I'm wondering if that's enough....hmmmm.....

In other news, still knitting on the clapotis, my neice's GREEN sock and my new project (because you know it had to happen) a Calorimetry from Knitty.com. I have a friend who's learning to knit, but in her class, they aren't making anything. Just swatches, so she's bored and doesn't think it's fun or worth the effort to get to the point where it gets easier, so I'm setting up a challenge for her. I'm making a Calorimetry and I've bought several more skeins for her to make a sweater. I think the color changes will keep it interesting and having a matching set should keep her going for awhile.

New projects
I like how soft the yarn is, but it's very splitty and that makes it difficult to knit without paying attention.
In other news, look at my reward for finishing my neice's sweater...
Yep, it's the start of a Clapotis (for me this time...hopefully) in Brooks farm Duet that I bought at Stitches Midwest. I love this yarn. I think it's turning out well so far.

Christmas Elves
I also started a new project. I started my neice's "GREEN" socks, because that's what color socks she wants.
Just a 2x2 rib and I'll probably put a ruffle at the top. I'm not really liking the Maizy yarn. It's soft, but it is so splitty. It's a pain to knit with.

Question: When is it time to buy a new car???
BTW - I only let him do 3 months of car payments, which should (fingers crossed) keep the car in working order to get to the first of the year so I can buy a new one. (of course, I'm trying to ignore the fact that I paid 4 months worth of car payments last month in order to pass the emissions test...)
UGHHHH!!!!!
BTW - The only reason I'm even remotely okay about this is my wonderful friend EJ took me out for a few beers and volunteered to go car shopping with me.
