A tale of yarn barf...

You know, that stuff that comes out of the middle of a center-pull ball of yarn... I have no idea what I did, but it took me and various members of my family (Thanks Mom & Susie) more than 2 hours to unravel and rewind the ball starting from the end. Ughhh!!! So needless to say, not much knitting got done on the Clapotis and I'm on the 13th repeat of the middle pattern. :-(

Today was father's day. I called my Dad bright and early this morning and took him to breakfast. I'd realized my mom was working and didn't think he should have to have breakfast alone on father's day. I cam home and cleaned my bedroom. Found 2 knitting magazines and the Debbie Bliss book that I'd been looking for so that was good. Went over to my parent's house for dinner. I only had to make salad this year, so I got off pretty easy. :-) We played with my neice who was an absolute doll, until she hit the critical meltdown point because she hadn't taken a nap all afternoon. Hopefully she let my sister and BIL get some sleep. I got my father the best card for father's day. On the outside it said "You're the coolest Dad..." and on the inside it said "of course, you have a lot less hair on your head to keep the heat in." It was the obligatory bald joke card for the year. He takes it all with good grace though. So, Happy Father's day to my father!

I love the term "yarn barf". I think it's a keeper. I've always refered to it as an "explosion" which is a less disgusting image, but it doesn't have the nifty alliteration.

And, your dad's card made me laugh. I was a bad daughter this year and didn't find anything good, but Dad sortof doesn't care.
