You're my obsession...A contest
I realized that my second blogiversary is coming up next week, so I've decided to hold my very first contest. And the winner will win some of my hand-dyed sock yarn in a colorway, I affectionately call Frog Pond.
So, I want to know what has been your knitting obsession. That project that you can't put down...that you dream about at night and wake up with ideas in your head. What pattern have you knit over and over again because you just loved it so much.
This, was, of course, brought on by my obsession with the sock yarn square blanket. Yes, I'm still obsessed. I still dream about it. Cuddled under the warmth in front of a fireplace in the winter (no, don't have a fireplace, this is a dream silly!). Admiring all the squares..."Those are the socks for my SIL, my neice, my brother...etc.
I want to know that I'm not the only one out there that's crazy. I want some commaraderie at crazy. So leave me a comment and let me know your obession, make sure I know how to find you and I'll randomly draw a winner on August 9th, my blogiversary.
Countdown to Stitches Midwest: 9 days!!!! Into the single digits. I bought shoes that I can wear in relative comfort with my poor broken foot tonight...

I don't know if this counts, but my latest obsession is my lacy scarf. Remember the one I screwed up and had to have you and Beth fix?! It scared me so bad because up to that point it was going so well. I've mustered the courage to pick it back up and now I can't wait for it to be finished. "Just one more repeat, it's only 10 rows," I tell myself, as I'm drooling over other lace patterns I'm dying to get good enough to try...
I don't know if this makes you feel better, but I aspire to your level of obsession. Does that make sense? :)

Um, you'll never guess... Bibs! They're so fast and simple and cute and useful. I'm trying to resist so I can get some other knitting done.
Just mentioned this contest on my blog.

Sock yarn, any color, and type, as long as it's got some wool in it. I pick up yarn and needles all day long, and have to force myself to put it down and return to my current projects.

I'm new to knitting, and I don't know if I'm really obsessed with anything yet (I'm sure I'll get there). I've been making a lot of potholders lately, but that's mostly because I've had requests for them.

I'm obsessed with starting new projects. I don't care what they are I loooooove casting-on and working those first few rows and seeing something take shape be it a sock, a scarf, a washcloth, whatever!

I'm obsessed with socks of pretty much any type. That and sock yarn.
I've knit 16 complete pairs of socks this year, and I have parts of 4 more on the needles at this very moment. :o

I'd have to say that the current obsession is the sweater I'm designing from scratch. Unfortunately, it will have to be frogged because I don't think I'll have enough yarn to finish in its current pattern, but that's definitely the sweater that I've been obsessing over. Other than that, I've started a pair of socks, and I really like the colorway of the yarn, and I can't wait to work on it when I get home at night - provided Adam will cooperate with me on that!
Cool idea, and I can't believe it's been 2 years already.

at the moment, its Dishcloths!
I'm trying many new patterns and knitting dishcloths I never thought I'd take the time to actually knit. Crazy I know!

I was obsessed with my Rogue hoody. I couldn't put the thing down! The cables were so addicting.

Booga. Or rather, the mini Booga that she has free on her website. I'm working on my second now, and I already have plans to make a third. I'm completely obsessed with making these cute fuzzy things .. and I'll probably keep it up until I run out of wool!

My obsession, like many others, is sock yarn. It is really hard for me to resist beautiful colors and imagine them on my feet. I just want it!

Happy blogiversary!!!
I would have to say that my current obsession is Fetching in the current Knitty. It is such a fast pattern and they are great to have in any color to keep my hands warm in the meat locker I call my office.
Thanks for the fun contest! The Frog Pond looks absolutely beautiful!!

My obsession is a ball of yarn... 2400 yards of Cherry Tree Hill merino lace-weight that has been sitting on my desk for several years now, actually. It's so beautiful that I actually occasionally cuddle it (my son is SO glad that our nearest neighbors do not have an easy view through our living room window, as he's convinced I would be immediately hauled away for Yarn Rehab)... what's worse, it's so beautiful that I can't find a pattern that would be both beautiful enough to be worthy of it AND fall within my meagre lace-knitting abilities.
It may live out it's life as an Objet d'Art (or would that be Objet d'Odd?)

My newest obsession has been the diamond fantasy shawl, I just started it last week. But I haven't been knitting much. I think my move has made me moody.

Definitely Fuzzy Feet. I have done too many to count! But they are so quick and easy and people love them. Much quicker than socks!
See you next Saturday at the Hyatt!

I'm a sock fanatic currently. Last year I was obsessed with felted purses and the year before that it was sweaters. I'll knit so many of one thing that it will be several years before I'm able to undertake making whatever it is again.

I WANT TO PLAY!
Right now, I'm OBSESSED with TWO projects:
The Vogue Fall 2006: Fair-Isle U-Neck Pullover
http://dulcedosa.blogspot.com/2006/08/vogue-knitting-fall-2006-modern.html#links
Knitting my FIRST pair of socks the Queen Kahuna way.
http://www.queenkahuna-creations.com/crazytoesandheelsbook.html
Presently, I'm working on the "Fan Toes" of a pair of toe up socks using Queen Kahuna's Aloha Cast-on and Fan Toe Methodology. DA*N I love this book. I've got it notated with cute little page lifters. If you take your time and just read and follow her directions, it walks you through the whole process of knitting socks. It's a beautiful thing. No guess work.
